Juan Martinez

Welcome Juan Martinez back to UNLV, where he completed a Ph.D. in English. Juan’s collection Best Worst American covers wide terrain including sci-fi, horror, and realism. It made the Chicago Review of Books’s best fiction list in 2017. The Rumpus recently said of Martinez: “As soon as you think you’ve figured out what he’s up to, you’ll come across work that feels achingly autobiographical, or a story that takes a sudden sharp turn from comedy to horror.” Come ready to be surprised and delighted–and maybe a little scared–with us.
